The villa is located just outside the Andalucian town of Colmenar in picturesque countryside with hill and mountain views all around.

"Inland Costa Del Sol" directly North of Malaga, 10 minutes from the main A45 motorway from Malaga to Antequera.

Colmenar is a typical rural Spanish town with steep streets and white painted houses. With lots of little bars tucked away with their own individual character.

It also has a range of traditional shops, a supermarket restaurants, bars and a petrol station. The local market day is Thursday.

Horse riding can be arranged locally which is a good way of exploring the ancient tracks which crisscross the area and is available for all abilities.

For a bigger shopping experience travel only 30 minutes away to Antequera or Velez Malaga (not to be confused with the city of Malaga) There is a modern shopping centre at each location.

In Antequera “La Veronica” and Velez Malaga “El Ingenio” with the anchor stores of Eroski (large supermarket). You will also find nearby to both centres supermarkets such as Mercadona and Lidl.

In Velez Malaga there is also a Dunnes Store (whose name most British people will recognise), a bowling alley and a multiscreen cinema.

Opposite El Ingenio shopping centre is a large water park "Aquavelis" open from June to September.

For the less crowded beaches go to Torre Del Mar, (40 minutes same direction as Velez Malaga) a nice town with a seafront promenade with numerous "Chiringuitas" (restaurant/bars) along the front.

Also a weekly market is held on Thursdays.

Further along the coast to the East is Nerja another quieter location for shops, smaller beaches and seafront promenade "Balcon de Europe". For more action then the beaches at Torremolinos, Fuenguerola and Marbella are just over an hours drive to the West. If you fancy a day trip to Gibraltar this is approximately a two and half hour drive.

For Marinas and boats then to the West you will find Benalmadena, Puerto Banus (near Marbella) and further West to Sotogrande. There is a small marina East of Torre del Mar and also at Nerja.

Granada is an hours drive away on motorway style roads or take the scenic route across the mountain ranges which takes a bit longer - A great city to visit along with the famous "Alhambra Palace". The Sierra Nevada mountains are only another half hour drive South from Granada.

We are 45 KM from Malaga Airport mainly on Motorway style roads. We can arrange a meet and greet service by our local English speaking representatives from Malaga Airport or Car Hire pickup point. You can then follow them to the property. We would advise this if unfamiliar with driving abroad or in the dark. This service is also available from the village of Colmenar.

We will provide you with very comprehensive directions from the Airport which previous visitors have found to be very easy to follow
